What is Australian Racing Tours?
We’re Australia’s premier racing travel company, offering unforgettable group tours to the world’s greatest racing carnivals — from the Cox Plate and Royal Ascot to the Japan Cup and beyond. Our all-inclusive packages include exclusive experiences, premium hospitality, and expert hosts who know racing inside and out.
What do the tours include? Each tour includes a variety of things depending on the location, generally they include premium accommodation, race day hospitality, transfers throughout, exclusive functions and events, sightseeing and an ART host to look after you the whole time.
Who are our tours suitable for?
Everyone! Whether you’re a long-time racehorse owner, a first-time punter, or just love great travel experiences with like-minded people — you’ll fit right in. Our tours are social, fun, and full of racing insight.
BOOKING & PAYMENT:
How do I book a tour?
Simply register your interest online, or contact us directly via phone or email. We’ll guide you through the next steps.
How will I be kept updated on tour information and updates?
You will receive a welcome email shortly after booking, followed by detailed updates at 6 months, 3 months, and 14 days before the tour, containing all the essential information you’ll need. If any additional updates arise between these times, we’ll be sure to keep you informed promptly.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, our tours require a deposit to secure your place — typically from $250 per person for domestic tours and from $500 for international tours, depending on the destination. The remaining balance is generally due 60 to 90 days prior to departure. Full payment details, including due dates and amounts, are outlined on each individual tour page.
Can I pay in instalments?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to make payments towards your balance at any time and as often as you like. Just let us know your preference, and we’ll help make the process easy and flexible.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Our cancellation policies vary depending on the tour and timing. We’ll outline this clearly before you book and can also be viewed in more detail here Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION:
Are flights included?
Flights are not included in our standard tour packages as people come from all around the globe to enjoy our tours. However, some international tours may include internal flights — these will be clearly listed in the tour inclusions or confirmed at the time of booking.
If you need assistance with flights, our in-house travel agent can help. She can also assist with any add-ons before or after your tour, including accommodation, travel insurance, and other travel arrangements to help you make the most of your trip.
What type of accommodation is provided?
We stay in 4–5 star hotels and boutique properties, selected for location, comfort, and quality.
What’s the difference between a twin room and a double room?
A twin room has two separate beds, ideal for friends or travellers sharing. A double room has one bed, usually a queen or king size, suitable for couples or individuals who prefer a larger bed.
Can I request extra nights before or after the tour at the hotels?
Yes, you can! If you’d like to extend your stay, just let us know and we can assist with booking extra nights at the tour hotels before or after the official tour dates, subject to availability.
RACING EVENTS:
What’s included on race day?
Our race day packages usually include premium hospitality (marquee or private suite, or dining areas), entry tickets, return transfers.
Will I get to meet trainers, jockeys, or other racing personalities?
Our long-standing industry partnerships allow us to offer behind-the-scenes access, stable tours, stud visits and meet-and-greets with racing personalities at selected events.
TOUR EXPERIENCE:
How big are the groups?
Group sizes vary depending on the tour, but we keep numbers small enough to remain personal and enjoyable — often between 20 and 40 people.
Will there be a tour host?
Yes. All of our tours are hosted by experienced, well-travelled racing enthusiasts — many of whom are also racehorse owners and industry professionals. They’re there to ensure everything runs smoothly and to share their knowledge, passion, and behind-the-scenes insights throughout the tour.
Do you offer discounts for repeat travellers?
Yes — returning clients receive a 5% loyalty discount on future tours.
Do you run private or custom tours?
Absolutely! Whether you have a group of 10 or more, we can tailor a bespoke racing tour to suit your needs. With our extensive professional network around the world, we can organize tours to virtually any racing destination.
