The Kentucky Derby is one of the oldest and most important sporting events in the world. Australian Racing Tours are again delighted to offer the ultimate Kentucky Derby Tour, giving you the opportunity to experience “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports” for yourself.
But the Kentucky Derby is much more than just a two-minute race. It’s a week-long celebration in Louisville filled with world-class racing, food, fashion, entertainment, and Southern hospitality. Our Kentucky Derby tour package includes reserved grandstand access to both the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks, a Stud Farm tour, morning trackwork, exclusive functions and events, Louisville hotel accommodation, racecourse transfers, and much more.
Itinerary
After arriving in Louisville, we’ll check into the Hampton Inn, our hotel right in the heart of Louisville. Once settled, we’ll head out for some welcome drinks, a perfect chance to meet everyone and go over the plans for the week ahead.
After breakfast, we’ll set off for Lexington, the heart of horse country in America. Our day includes a visit to the Keeneland Racecourse & Sales Complex, followed by a trip to a world-class stud farm to watch some of their stallion’s parade.
We’ll enjoy a delightful country lunch before returning to Louisville.
The evening is at leisure, giving you the chance to soak up the vibrant atmosphere of Kentucky Week.
Enjoy a relaxed start to the day before we visit the renowned Angel’s Envy Distillery for an immersive bourbon tasting experience. Located in the heart of Louisville, this state-of-the-art distillery offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at one of Kentucky’s most celebrated bourbons — from barrel to bottle. Discover what makes Angel’s Envy truly unique while sampling their signature expressions in a stylish and intimate setting.
It’s race day! After breakfast, we’ll head to Ladies’ Day at Churchill Downs for the running of the Kentucky Oaks — don’t forget to dress in pink for the occasion!
We’ll be seated on level three of the grandstand, undercover (essential, as it can get very hot or rainy), with reserved box seats. Our tickets include all food and beverages from the concession outlets, so you can relax and enjoy the day.
After thirteen thrilling races, we’ll return to the hotel, giving you an evening at leisure to unwind before the excitement of the Derby tomorrow.
Today is the day — DERBY DAY! After a light breakfast, we’ll return to Churchill Downs for a full day of racing, with the Kentucky Derby slated for around 6:50 pm.
We’ll be back on level three near the 300m line, giving us a fantastic view of the Derby. With roughly a 50% chance of rain each year, our undercover seats are the perfect spot to enjoy all the on-track action comfortably. All grandstand tickets include food and drinks from the concession stands, so you can focus on the excitement.
After the final race, we’ll head back to the hotel to unwind and reflect on two incredible days of racing.
We finish the tour with a relaxing recovery day, heading out for a final local luncheon to recap the great week we’ve had, hopefully with some winnings in our pocket.
