The Kentucky Derby is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious sporting events, and in 2028 Australian Racing Tours invites you to experience the excitement of this iconic racing spectacle firsthand.
Known as “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports,” the Kentucky Derby is far more than a single race. Louisville comes alive with a week-long celebration of world-class racing, Southern hospitality, fashion, entertainment, and unforgettable experiences.
Our 2028 Kentucky Derby Tour includes admission to both the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby, exclusive behind-the-scenes racing experiences including morning trackwork and a Kentucky Stud Farm tour, special hosted functions and events, quality accommodation in Louisville, racecourse transfers, and much more. Join us for an unforgettable journey to one of horse racing’s greatest bucket-list events.

Itinerary
After arriving in Louisville, we’ll check into the Hampton Inn, our hotel right in the heart of Louisville. Once settled, we’ll head out for some welcome drinks, a perfect chance to meet everyone and go over the plans for the week ahead.
After breakfast, we’ll set off for Lexington, the heart of horse country in America. Our day includes a visit to the Keeneland Racecourse & Sales Complex, followed by a trip to a world-class stud farm to watch some of their stallion’s parade.
We’ll enjoy a delightful country lunch before returning to Louisville.
The evening is at leisure, giving you the chance to soak up the vibrant atmosphere of Kentucky Week.
Enjoy a relaxed start to the day before heading out for a local bourbon tasting experience. You’ll get a firsthand look at how traditional Kentucky bourbon is made, following the process from the grains to the aging barrels. Wrap up the tour by sampling a variety of traditional blends and distinct flavors in the distillery’s tasting room.
It’s race day! After breakfast, we’ll head to Ladies’ Day at Churchill Downs for the running of the Kentucky Oaks — don’t forget to dress in pink for the occasion!
We’ll be seated on level three of the grandstand, undercover (essential, as it can get very hot or rainy), with reserved box seats. Our tickets include all food and beverages from the concession outlets, so you can relax and enjoy the day.
After thirteen thrilling races, we’ll return to the hotel, giving you an evening at leisure to unwind before the excitement of the Derby tomorrow.
Today is the day — DERBY DAY! After a light breakfast, we’ll return to Churchill Downs for a full day of racing, with the Kentucky Derby slated for around 6:50 pm.
We’ll be back on level three near the 300m line, giving us a fantastic view of the Derby. With roughly a 50% chance of rain each year, our undercover seats are the perfect spot to enjoy all the on-track action comfortably. All grandstand tickets include food and drinks from the concession stands, so you can focus on the excitement.
After the final race, we’ll head back to the hotel to unwind and reflect on two incredible days of racing.
We finish the tour with a relaxing recovery day, heading out for a final local luncheon to recap the great week we’ve had, hopefully with some winnings in our pocket.
