The 2027 Scone Racing Carnival invites you to experience one of New South Wales’ premier country racing events, set in the heart of Australian thoroughbred breeding—the Hunter Valley. The tour combines outstanding racing with exclusive access to world-renowned studs and relaxed country hospitality.
With more than 50 studs across this picturesque region, we’ll visit some of the finest, including Coolmore, Arrowfield and Newgate Farm (TBC), offering a behind-the-scenes look at the industry. Along the way, we’ll also enjoy stops at some of the Hunter Valley’s standout wineries.
We’ll finish at the Scone Racing Carnival, one of the biggest highlights on the NSW country racing calendar and a half-day public holiday in Scone. The two-day Scone Racing Carnival, featuring Arrowfield Scone Cup Raceday and Darley Dark Jewel Raceday, is among Australia’s leading country racing events.
Itinerary
Arrive in Sydney and meet at the Airport or Central Station for a private coach transfer to the beautiful Hunter Valley. Upon arrival in Muswellbrook, we’ll check in to the Remington Inn, our home for the week. After settling in, we will head out for a private dinner and drinks — the perfect opportunity to unwind and get to know your fellow travellers.
On our first day, we’ll embark on an exciting tour around the Hunter Valley, visiting some of the region’s most prestigious studs, such as Arrowfield and Newgate, depending on availability. You’ll have the chance to see their leading stallions up close and tour of the amazing facilities.
After an inspiring morning, we’ll head for a leisurely winery lunch, where you can unwind and savour the afternoon with delicious food and fine wine.
Today, we’ll begin our second day touring the Hunter Valley with another Stud visit where you will enjoy a guided tour of the property and a captivating stallion parade.
Next, we’ll head to a beautiful winery for a delicious lunch. Afterward, we may stop by another winery for a tasting session before the evening is yours to relax and prepare for the weekend’s events.
Today we head to the Arrowfield Scone Cup, where we will witness one of the biggest days on the NSW country racing calendar, featuring the $200,000 Arrowfield Scone Cup while indulging in premium hospitality — an experience like no other.
We return to the track for Darley Dark Jewel Day, a standalone country race day where we will again enjoy premium hospitality while watching the racing in style.
After the races, we’ll head back to the hotel for a few post-race drinks to celebrate the conclusion of two fantastic days of racing.
